I've lived amongst the West Coastal Mountains for most of my life but, there's something different about being in the presence of our Planet's "Giants" that is hard to describe. Beauty can be found anywhere one is open to find but, it's the "movement & impact" one place can have on one's being. An increased weight of some kind.
The Himalayas are home to the birth of some of the most significant spiritual enlightenments of our time... It is apparent why. The people, the scenery, the sense of awe was raw & unique. It was enriching. A place worth exploring...

Growing up in Canada, I don't or rarely recall being encouraged to "save up and visit the Northern Atlantic". We grew up being told about Florida & Mexico & Hawaii - for obvious weather reasons. I was and continue to be so lucky and honoured to work with a Team of absolute Creative Geniuses lead by Director & EP, Scott David Martin, travelling the World and capturing it with the intention of sharing its authentic story. From the formation of icebergs, to the migratory paths of polar bears to the rich history of Europe's past. A corner of our world, often overlooked but, well worth exploring...

Behind the scene, in front of the scene... Every aspect and part of these scenes were highlights.
Our lives are richer having met Sarah & her husband Paul, the kids, the WMA Team & the 2, brave Lauras. This was one of those projects that I never once felt as though I was working. We were simply capturing real, authentic, un-staged routine & LIFE. It was freeing and left me wiser. We have since aimed at approaching all creative projects in the same way. To embrace rather than to fear authenticity, conflict, the ego's desire to hide or feel ashamed or guilty. This project was a celebration of Human Spirit & Beauty!

There's something viscerally magical about witnessing, let alone capturing the beauty of loved ones, friends, family members "adventuring" together. When you catch a glimpse of people being collectively "lost in the moment", where time no longer matters, emails & phone calls & texts no longer matter, it moves you. It grabs you. It's the essence of life in some way...genuine love and the unfolding of consciousness connected with nature to produce a vivid experience. We often fail to recognize the complexity that must occur to manifest such a simple and pure moment. Fun! This is one of my favourite examples of being a "BACKDROP" professional.
